As part of our commitment to improving access to critical health care services and ensuring that rural populations have the care they need, CoxHealth announced plans to build a new $42 million-dollar, 75,000-square-foot hospital in Monett to replace the current facility that was built in 1953. Estimated completion date is spring 2021.

While the hospital has served the community well for many years, an updated and expanded facility will help us continue providing vital health care services with a focus on quality and innovation, as well as helping attract more providers to Monett. The new hospital is a key part of our mission to ensure rural communities have access to the health care they need, especially in critical, time-sensitive situations.
Cox Monett has been recognized by Modern Healthcare for two consecutive years as one of the top Best Places to Work in Healthcare in the entire United States. In fact, this year Cox Monett came in at No. 15 on the prestigious list and is the only critical access hospital in Missouri selected for this award, and one of only two hospitals in Missouri to be named to the list. In an emergency, time matters. Cox Monett is a designated Level IV Stroke and Level IV STEMI Center by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The designation means that Cox Monett has a consistently proven plan and record of caring for patients who present to the ER with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and stroke symptoms.
As part of CoxHealth, there are numerous physician clinics, a rehab and sports medicine clinic with an exercise pool, specialists who see patients close to home in Monett, and an urgent care clinic that is now open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
